THE FIRE SKY

1980 SOMETHING....

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

Those words echoed across the world. A challenge. A declaration. To the free world, it was a symbol of defiance. To the Soviets, it was a final insult—one they would never forget.

For decades, the Cold War teetered on the edge of destruction, but after Reagan’s speech, something changed. The Soviet war machine accelerated. Espionage, military drills, and silent preparations intensified in the East. Instead of the Berlin Wall coming down in 1989, the Red Army struck...

At 0400 hours on September 19, 1991, the world changed forever. In the dead of night, the Soviet Union made its move. Without warning, hundreds of ICBMs launched from hidden silos deep within Russia, streaking across the sky like falling stars. Targets? Major U.S. cities, military installations, and government command centers.

Washington D.C. was the first to go. The US CAPITAL—gone in an instant. Then New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. Millions of lives erased before the sun could rise. The United States, caught off guard, retaliated, launching its own missiles. But it was too late. The Russian's had hacked the weapons systems and the first strike had crippled the nation’s response.

What followed wasn’t the end. It was only the beginning.

THE 40 YEARS WAR

1980- 2020 SOMETHING....

With the U.S. military in chaos and its government in ruins, the Russians didn’t wait. They invaded. Paratroopers dropped into the heartland. Special forces took control of the remains of shattered cities. From the East Coast to the West, they carved a path through the broken remnants of America.

For the first time in history, foreign soldiers marched through the streets of American towns. But the U.S. wasn’t dead—not yet. What remained of the military and civilian militias rallied to fight back. The battle for America had begun.

The war never truly ended. It just became something else. What was once the United States fractured into war zones. Some regions fell under Soviet control immediately, their citizens forced into submission. Others refused to surrender, launching a resistance that would last for decades.

They called it the 40-Year War. Entire generations were born knowing nothing but battle. Old American military units formed hidden factions, fighting from the shadows. Civilians became warriors. Cities turned to ruins, abandoned highways became battlegrounds. The Russians pushed forward with their iron fist, but the spirit of rebellion never died.

By 2035, the resistance was shattered. The last strongholds fell. America, as the world once knew it, was gone.

After forty years of bloodshed, the Russian victory was absolute. The United States was officially dissolved. In its place rose a new nation—the United States of the Russian Federation. American culture was erased, its history rewritten. The stars and stripes were replaced by the red and gold of the Russian banner. Every major city was placed under military control, and those who resisted… disappeared.

The Russian ruled cities thrived with almost infinite resources. A simple order from the ruler of the Russian Federation, High Chancellor Sergei Makarov .... Russian dominance at all costs. With this direct order technology began to accelerate with cybernetics being developed by leading edge Russian scientists with no regard for compliance, standards or human life. Spetsnaz soldiers were beginning to become more machine then man.

For the new generation, there was no memory of freedom. Only the rule of the Federation. But even in the darkest times, hope remained. In the shadows, the embers of the American spirit remained and whispers of rebellion grew. Across the wastelands, remnants of the old resistance—calling themselves the Wolverines—began to rise again. Their goal? To finish what their ancestors started. America will rise again!

THE WASTELANDS

2020 SOMETHING

After the first wave of nuclear fire, America’s heartland was left in ruins. Entire states became uninhabitable, poisoned by radiation and scorched by the relentless sun. The Russians had no interest in occupying these wastelands—too unstable, too dangerous. Instead, they declared them 'containment zones'—still territory of the Russian Federation in name only, but abandoned to rot.

But nature hates a vacuum. And in the ashes, a new society emerged....

With no government, no military presence, and no oversight, the wastelands became a land of warlords, smugglers, and scavengers. Survivors who couldn’t—or wouldn’t—submit to the Russian Federation found themselves here, fighting to carve out a life in the deadlands. Some built fortresses from the ruins, others turned to piracy, hunting those foolish enough to pass through. The weak didn’t last long. The strong? They thrived.

MASTER BLASTER: THE KING OF THE WASTELANDS

Among the chaos, one man rose above the rest—Master Blaster. A legend in his own right, he wasn’t just another warlord. He was a tactician, a visionary, and a tyrant all in one. He fought in the forty years war and saw carnage for his entire adult life. Salvaging cybernetics from conquered Spetsnaz he became more powerful. Where others fought over scraps, he built an empire. He united the strongest raider clans under one banner, enforcing his rule with a brutal code: loyalty or death. Those who opposed him were crushed. Those who served him? They lived under the promise that," MASTER BLASTER ALWAYS PROVIDES!"

And at the center of it all, he built his capital—the beating heart of the Wastelands. NUKE TOWN.....

NUKE TOWN: THE FREE ZONE OF AMERICA
(NOTHING IS FREE)

Where the Russian Federation dared not tread, Master Blaster built something new. He called it Nuke Town—a city of outlaws, rebels, and anyone with the grit to survive. It was the last truly free place in what was once America, a place where the Federation’s rule meant nothing.

But freedom came at a cost. In Nuke Town, power was everything. Trade thrived—fuel, weapons, technology, even people. Gladiator arenas entertained the masses. The Black Market kept the city alive. And at the top of it all sat Master Blaster, ruling with an iron fist.

To the Federation, Nuke Town was a problem they couldn’t solve. To the Wolverines, it was a lawless hellhole. But to the people of the Wastelands, it was the last place where they could live on their own terms as long as they served MASTER BLASTER.

The people of the Wastelands are not soldiers. They are not rebels. They are something else entirely. Survivors. Smugglers. Killers. Some fight for fortune, others just to stay alive. They do not care who runs the world outside their borders—Russian or Wolverine. To them, only the Wasteland matters and how much they can take from it for themselves.

But now, with whispers of Project Starfire, the Federation tightening its grip, and the Wolverines rising again, even the Wastelands will not be able to remain neutral. The free zone of America may soon find itself at war once more.

PROJECT STARFIRE

In the final days of the war, as the United States crumbled under Russian control, the Kremlin sought to secure its dominance once and for all. Conventional warfare had taken its toll. The resistance was persistent. To ensure total control, they needed something new—something unstoppable.

Thus, Project Starfire was born. A top-secret Soviet weapons program designed to harness space-based technology for orbital warfare. A single weapon with the potential to erase entire cities from existence. It was rumored to be a directed-energy weapon—a satellite capable of unleashing a focused energy strike anywhere on the planet. Unlike nuclear warheads, it left no radiation, no fallout—just absolute devastation.

The key to its success? A brilliant but reluctant mind: Vladimir Petrovich, one of Russia’s most renowned weapons scientists. And a man desperate to escape his own creation

VLADIMIR PETROVICH: A PRISONER OF HIS OWN GENIUS

Vladimir Petrovich never wanted to build weapons. He was a visionary, a physicist who once dreamed of using space technology for exploration—not destruction. But the Kremlin had other plans. Under constant surveillance by the Spetsnaz, Russia’s elite special forces, Vladimir was given a choice: develop Project Starfire, or watch his family disappear.

For years, he worked in secrecy, perfecting the satellite’s energy systems, refining its targeting mechanisms. But he knew the truth—if the Russians completed Starfire, no force on Earth could stop them. The humanity would be wiped out in an instant.

He would build a access port into the system through a remote system to access the firing terminal. And so, he made a choice. He would betray the Federation. But to do so, he needed the Wolverines.

Under the noses of his captors, Vladimir began his most dangerous experiment yet—escaping the Russian Federation. Using an outdated communication array hidden deep in his research facility, he sent a message encrypted in an old American cipher. A message meant for one group only: the Wolverines.

The deal was simple: If they could extract him, he would bring Project Starfire with him. Its blueprints, its failsafe codes—everything they needed to turn the weapon against the Russians. But getting Vladimir out of Russian-controlled territory wouldn’t be easy. The Spetsnaz watched his every move. One misstep, and both he and the Wolverines would be dead before they even got started.

The Wolverines didn’t hesitate. This wasn’t just about rescuing a scientist—it was about changing the war. If Project Starfire could be turned against the Federation, the resistance finally had a fighting chance.

The plan was set: infiltrate the hidden Russian facility, extract Vladimir, and escape with the Starfire data before the Russians knew what hit them.

Vladimir knew there was no walking away from the Russian Federation. If he wanted out, he had to take his freedom by force. Using the chaos of a scheduled weapons test, he made his move—overriding the security system, disabling key surveillance feeds, and planting a makeshift explosive to cover his escape. Before the Spetsnaz could react, he was already in motion, sprinting toward the facility’s motor pool.

That’s where he found his ticket out—a Spetsnaz assault vehicle, fully armored and stocked with enough battery and firepower to make it deep into the wastelands. With Federation troops closing in, Vladimir had only one choice—he gunned the engine and crashed through the outer gates, disappearing into the toxic fog of the deadlands

A HOSTAGE SITUATION

Master Blaster has eyes everywhere. When he heard a Russian military vehicle was tearing through his wastelands, he knew something was off. His enforcers set the perfect trap—wreckage on the road, an old fuel tanker staged as a blockade. When Vladimir tried to maneuver around it, the ambush began.

The battle was over before it even started. Wasteland raiders swarmed the vehicle, detonating makeshift explosives to disable its tires. Vladimir fought, but against Master Blaster’s numbers, it was hopeless. He was torn from the wreckage, dragged in chains, and taken straight to Nuke Town—Master Blaster’s lawless capital.

The stolen Spetsnaz vehicle? That belonged to Master Blaster now. Another trophy for his collection. His greed for the fastest vehicle in the wastelands blinded him from the truth that Vladimir possessed the most powerful weapon in the world. PROJECT STARFIRE.

But Vladimir wasn’t out of the fight yet. He knew the Russians were hunting him. He knew Master Blaster wouldn’t let him go unless he saw a bigger prize in it. And he knew the Wolverines were his last hope.

Using a radio Vladimir managed to send a single encrypted transmission before the raiders found him.

The message was short. Urgent.

This is Vladimir. I have Project Starfire. I am in Nuke Town. The Russians are coming. Get here before they do.

Now, the Wolverines must decide—risk an all-out assault on Nuke Town to rescue the scientist, or let him fall into the hands of the highest bidder... (if you read this far, congratulations you will get 5 gold coins by speaking the phrase at event registration "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!")

But the Kremlin wasn’t about to let their prized scientist walk away. The Spetsnaz were already closing in. Under the direction of DRAGOV the most decorated cyber Spetsnaz, part man and part machine the most lethal soldier in the Soviet Federation. If the Wolverines failed, Project Starfire would be completed, and the resistance would be nothing more than a memory.

THE MISSION: INFILTRATE, LOCATE, EXTRACT

The Wolverines don’t have the numbers to storm Nuke Town head-on. Master Blaster’s forces are too strong, the city too chaotic. A full-scale assault would be suicide. Instead, General Cable has devised a different strategy—one built on deception, precision, and patience.

Go undercover, infiltrating the ranks of the Nuke Town Tribal Warriors, one of the many factions loyal to Master Blaster. With their trust, they can get close—close enough to uncover Vladimir’s location, secure the Project Starfire chip, and extract both before the Russians make their move.

To survive in Nuke Town, the Wolverines must become one with the Nuke Town tribe. They will take on a new identity—a former soldier turned mercenary, seeking power within the ranks of the wasteland’s most ruthless fighters. To gain their trust, they must prove themselves in the pits of Nuke Town’s gladiator arenas, in the blood-soaked streets where only the strongest earn respect.

They will endure trials, fight in the death matches, and rise through the ranks of the Tribal Warriors. Through this pursuit General Cable has uncovered a plot by Toady Master Blasters right hand man who is staging a coup to become the new King of Nuke Town. With Toady's desire for greed and power the wolverines will use him to earn their place and get close enough to Master Blaster to learn where Vladimir is being held. The only way that happens is by earning a entry into The DEATH RACE...... And there our adventure begins...
